    We know Ninja Theory can make a great 3D action game in a style we are familiar with, but can they evolve the 3D action game beyond what has been achieved by Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin or Dark Souls? From Software are the obvious leaders in the field right now, but I still feel that there’s a lot of room to play with the Souls formula in interesting ways, whereas the DmC style combat we have mostly seen since 2001 has been worked to the bone and its harder to bring in fresh gameplay ideas. Make the bosses bigger? God of War 3 took that to its extreme. Design a strong narrative? Heavenly Sword and DmC did that. Make shooting an equally important part of the game? Blades of Time did that and even added in Time Manipulation. Whats left after all that? Add parries and throws like in God Hand? Isn’t that what Anarchy Reigns did? Not to mention Bloodborne, which has the God Hand dodging style but uses melee combat. Whats left… well there is one thing I can think of that could have been implemented better in the game it was in… the Zandatsu from MGR / Red Steel 2. It would really bring some freshness to the 3D swordfighting game, I hope you guys are leaving an option open for incorporating it somewhere down the line 🙂

    Amazing guys, i loved the “last” result.
    One thing i would love for you to do is more character damage, make us believe the characters are actually injured by adding cuts and blood to their bodies, ragged clothes and by changing their movements depending on how much hurt they are.
    I can’t wait to play this game.
    I’ll be watching and supporting you, you will rock at E3, let’s go!! \(^0^)/

    I caught a glimpse of your list and saw perfect block was remove. I hope the combat still have some sort of parry system since is a big part of what makes street fighter combat good.

    I can’t wait to see what happens at E3–definitely one of my most anticipated games both for E3 ’15 and release!

    For the first time in your diary to see prostrate Senua, trying to avoid even greater damage, crawled from the enemy – looks very lively. It makes a real worry for the heroine.
    But I saw less pleasant things – the trace of the blade in the air can be less bright, as well as a small movement to make a soft – such as fidgeting in place.
    We look forward to E3! 🙂

    Hellblade is one of my most anticipated games for this year! I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Since I’m a PC player, I would like to see a future Development Diary with a focus on the PC version, for examples the challenges and PC specific features of Hellblade.

    Long way to go, but looking forward to this so much. Very generous to share so much with us. Really hope you keep it stamped with a strong Scandinavian feel. Would still love to see wooden and metal shields that can slowly be chipped away at or shattered. Very physical and visceral (check Viking. Battle for Asgard out) That,s it. Thanks folks.     I have played most of your games on PC or PS3’s and what i find that you got some actions maneuver that doesn’t too hard to do which i like about your game play very much. Hack and slash games should be fun to play not to think of too much variables or too much difficult move to evade like Lords of fallen. Which i believe is a disaster. Looking at your preliminary character work looks like those kinds of games. Plz don’t make a game like more to think than play type. I wish you guys will make a hell of a game..

    HI, I have been excited for this game since it has been announced, and I appreciate the level of openness u guys provide .. every video I watch and every article I read give me the feeling that this game is going in the right direction … good luck and I can’t wait .
