Had no real knowledge of this game until I happen to see an article on msn about the live motion capture. Out of curiosity I came to the site and watched all the videos. Really intrigued by the idea of showing the development process. Well done will be purchasing this title because it has also caught my interest about mental health.

Ninja Theory, you almost pulled off a strong female lead. I understand you’re a small independent team without AAA funding, and I’m psyched that you’ve come up with a way to body map a real actor so you don’t have to animate, but in using a little Serbian model to be your body, you’ve made your main character look like just that…a little Serbian model. I was rooting for a girl who could swing a sword and had arms that looked the part, now I can’t believe she’s anything other than a Kurdish refugee. It’s sad that even Nariko, who was based on JLO, now looks more badass than Senua. I’m very amicable and understand your constraints though, so I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt…until you stuck a cringy tagline on your title and solidified my fear that you’re selling out AGAIN and just going for camp factor. Well, what did I expect from the team behind DMC? Looks like I won’t have to buy a PS4 after all.

The body is based off a female body builder. Not the same person as the face.

Great work Ninja Theory the game seems to be coming along great, I hope you kept the same body as you developed in Diary 17 because making Senua less of a warrior and more of a normal person might detract from the whole warrior in a foreign unknown land theme and could make the game seem unrealistic in terms of her strength when fighting the enemies. I would love to see how the combat system is getting on with the new mocap animations from Melina but overall keep up the great work!

Really good work and lot of potential for future real time game dev.
I’m curious how big is the polygons count on the character inside Unreal ?
