Hellblade Coming August 8th!

06 Jun Hellblade Coming August 8th!

Today we are very excited to announce that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC on August 8th 2017!

You can pre-order Hellblade today for $29.99/€29.99/£24.99 from the PlayStation Store (EU / US), Steam or GOG. Those pre-ordering for PlayStation 4 will receive an exclusive Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Dynamic Theme that depicts the iconic burning tree scene from the game. Those pre-ordering on PC will receive an exclusive digital comic short, Hellblade: Senua’s Song. With words by Hellblade creative director Tameem Antoniades and art from multiple Eisner Award nominee Ben Templesmith, the comic comes from a creative collaboration between Ninja Theory and award-winning comic book publisher Valiant Entertainment.

To celebrate the announcement, we have released a new trailer:

In Hellblade we are aiming to revive the lost space between indie and AAA gaming, where creatively diverse experiences made with AAA values can thrive once again. Our hope is that if we make our Independent AAA work with Hellblade, other developers will follow, leading to a more creative and diverse gaming world for developers and players alike.

We’ve been humbled by the support that we’ve had from all of our fans throughout development. You’ve followed our journey, shared our updates and encouraged us to follow our vision to its fullest. We’ve shared our development ups and downs with you, given you an insight into the world of creating a game like Hellblade and listened to what you’ve had to say. Now, as we approach launch, we ask you to rally round, pre-order Hellblade and help make this project a success for us, you and all of gaming.

Have just pre-ordered on PS4 (because my PC is super-crummy) – will there be a way to get the digital comic short on PC separately with e.g. proof of a PS4 preorder or a small cross-platform penitence fee?

Please guys, make a PS4 (and others) physical release of this great title of yours (not a too big amount and make it only available on this website) because i hate and can’t support digital only releases; i love to have all my dear games in my collection to be able to play and replay them several years after they were released (even decades, i stil have and enjoy my Sega Master System). So please, consider making it for your fans (I’m with you since the release of Heavenly Sword) who are willing to support you, who are ready to pay up to 20€ more than a digital release, but who can’t support a digital only content.
Thanks You guys for the great moments you provided (and wiil provide) us.

So very excited! August is sooooon!, too bad I do not own a gaming pc, the comic sounds like a must read. I am already so engaged in Senua’s world with only snippets of information.
Is there no single way ps4 players can get a download code for it?

Still waiting for you to bring back Anna Torv to her role as Nariko in a sequel, or a prequel. Heavenly Sword needs a remake. It was a remarkable game to begin with, and i’d love to play it again with HQ/HDR/4K setup – pretty please! 🙂

The US ps store has a wrong release date set to 31st of December 2017. Those who pre-order will have to wait 205 days instead of 60. Please fix the issue as soon as possible.

Ok, Dom. Have you guys even used the scans of Vikki Wild and the new, more muscular concepts for Senua as you described in the April 13 post? This trailer appears to show Melina’s tiny, petite body, not that of a battle-hardened warrior. This matters to some of us. There’s enough games catering to our more puerile desires where you control a sexy mannequin. Thousands. I already have many. I’d like to think Hellblade is a bit more authentic, but it seems like you’ve kept the original body model.

I am desperately waiting for this.. THANKS A MILLION for making this game. To be honest I thought you guys were working on HEAVENLY SWORD 2. The BEST PART is that you guys made this game on UNREAL ENGINE 4. OFcourse the combat mechanics of the game would be AWESOME. SPECIAL THANKS to Hugues Giboire for the AWESOME art WORK and thanks to Melina Juergens for becoming SENUA…

Game is very promising and I’m really looking forward to it but by what I’ve heard there will be no physical copy release? Digital only release? It’s simply unacceptable, sorry. Mind those who prefer physical copies AND those with poor internet connection. Frankly, if there’s no release on disc I don’t know if I’m ever buying it. Probably not. Unfortunately here we go the hard way again, since another developer seems to ignore A LOT of petition for a disc release. Sad that for having our (consumers) voice to be heard and try not to be disappointed once again by the same developer or other on the tracks of some nonsense similar trend on the future we have to reccur to boycotting.
